Pallet jack wheels: the difference between PU wheels and nylon wheels

There are generally two types of manual pallet jack wheels, one is PU wheel and the other is nylon wheel. The two materials are different, the use of the scene is not the same, in order to choose the right type, you can understand the difference, so as to facilitate the use.

Material

PU wheel: is a polymer compound polyurethane made of wheels, with a yellow or brownish yellow viscous liquid appearance, insoluble in water, but can be dissolved in styrene, xylene and other organic solvents, its density in 1.2 to 1.3g/cm³ between, with high density, high strength, high toughness, high wear resistance and other characteristics.

Nylon wheel: usually composed of nylon fiber mesh, abrasive media (mineral sand), bonding resin and other major components, which may add heat-absorbing additives, fillers and other additives, the main types of nylon 6 (PA6), nylon 66 (PA66) and nylon 12 (PA12) and so on, with excellent strength and toughness!

Areas of use

PU wheel is also called polyurethane wheel, this kind of wheel is wear-resistant, no indentation, and the shock-absorbing function can realize silence when pushing, it is more suitable for use in marble, paint as well as epoxy flooring.

And nylon wheels have low rotational assistance and are lighter to pull, more suitable for cement floors.

Abrasion resistance

PU wheel: has good abrasion resistance, even in harsh environments can maintain a long service life, but compared to nylon wheel is still a little inferior.

Nylon wheel: excellent wear resistance, very low friction coefficient, can withstand repeated impact, vibration, in the rough ground or need to move frequently in the scene, nylon wheel wear is relatively small

Ground protection

PU wheel: moderate hardness, can effectively reduce the wear and tear on the ground, especially for epoxy resin, PVC and other sensitive ground, will not cause scratches or indentation on the ground.

Nylon wheel: hard texture, in the use of the process may produce a certain degree of wear and tear on the ground, especially in epoxy flooring and other relatively smooth ground, easy to leave scratches.

Load-bearing capacity

PU wheel: able to withstand larger loads, suitable for heavy-duty handling scenarios, and its material composition is strong enough to support heavier equipment and reduce wear and tear, thus prolonging its service life.

Nylon wheel: strong carrying capacity, wear-resistant, widely used in heavy-duty manual hydraulic trucks and other logistics handling equipment, generally can meet most of the manual hydraulic trucks carrying needs.

Temperature adaptability

PU wheel: the applicable temperature range is wide, up to - 43 ℃ to 75 ℃, in the cold and high temperature environment can still maintain good performance.

Nylon wheel: the ambient temperature range is generally - 40 ℃ to 80 ℃, in the high-temperature environment, the performance is better, but in the low-temperature environment may be hardened, brittle situation, affecting its performance.
